A clearer way to understand your GPA
Credits, scales, and the details that change the answer.
A GPA is a weighted average, not a universal conversion from a percentage. Begin with the grade points and credit weights published by your institution. Our calculator accepts points directly so it does not silently assign a letter grade a value.
Multiply each grade point by the course credits, add those products, then divide by total credits. For 3 credits at 4.0 and 2 credits at 3.0, the result is (12 + 6) / 5 = 3.60.
Repeated courses, pass/fail modules, withdrawn courses, and transfer credits may follow special policies. Check your official academic handbook before deciding which rows to include. Keep full precision during calculation and round the displayed result at the end.
